the dilema

before i made a dedication to enki, my best friend of many years asked me to be godfather to his newborn child, i saw this as a great honour and accepted with pride. But now i am unsure as to what this could mean in respect to my dedication, where do i go with this i am pretty sure that if i was to go to my friend and give him some lame ass exuse he would now that i am lying as he knows me really well, and if i tell him the truth that im now a satanist it goes against the word of satan "do not mention my name lest my enemies use it against you". I dont wont to lie to my friend and i dont wont to be disrespectful to father, and if i have to choose then satan will be my choice no matter of the outcome regarding my friend, he is a good friend and altough he isnt religious his partner and her family are and if he is forced he is going to choose his family which is understandable.
A little advice on this please.
