Do your sinuses hurt?

If so, what is the colour?
Is there blood streaks in it?
Do you have any other persistent bodily symptoms such as cough, nausea, frontal or temple headaches? Muscle pain and fibromyalgic symptoms?
The more information you provide, the better the diagnosis and therefore any treatment recommendations will be.
Hey brother/sister, I didn't mean to ignore you. I will answer your questions below.
Do your sinuses hurt? - No, they just feel inflamed but no pain.
Is there any expectoration of mucous? - No I don't cough up mucus, there is a build up of very dry mucus in my nose that needs to be manually picked out.
If so, what is the colour?- dry green
Is there blood streaks in it? - 50% of the time yes
Do you have any other persistent bodily symptoms such as cough, nausea, frontal or temple headaches? Muscle pain and fibromyalgic symptoms? - No, except I am fatigued all the time because I can't breathe properly, I mouth breathe a lot.
Thanks for looking into this.
These symptoms indicate phlegm-fire, the location of which is the chest and upper burner
The herbal therapy indicated is Wen Dan Tang or Bamboo and Holen formula.
This formula clears heat and resolves phlegm.
Following that, any other apparent syndrome can be addressed.
For anyone interested, a common mistake when learning Chinese medicine is to ascribe and treat the apparent underlying deficiencies when there is phlegm involved.
Phlegm is a serious condition and complicates the body considerably. There is a saying in the classic books that phlegm is the root of the 10,000 diseases, meaning it can cause all kinds of problems.
When applying herbal therapy, to use a nourishing formula which increases yang of the spleen or kidney, so too will you increase the phlegm and therefore make the patient worse.
I liken phlegm to blockages within the pipes of a house.
Increasing water pressure (yang) may move the blockage (phlegm) but it also may push it somewhere harder to reach and more dangerous.
It is only by treating the water with strong corrosive chemicals to break down the blockage that we can achieve a drainage of the waste via the faucets (sweat, tears, urination, vomitus, defecation and ejaculation).
After the blockage is gone, the function may return to normal, at which point no further treatment may be necessary.
Or, another underlying syndrome may become evident, but the presence of phlegm complicates and obscures the actual body condition.
I have seen this first hand, time and time again in clinical practice treating the public.
You are of course welcome to question my merit and expertise on the subject of Chinese medicine, I have no problem with that for without questioning, how can one truly understand?
I have not been present on the forums for some time and there are numerous reasons for this both personal and spiritual.
I am aiming to be more active now.
