The first Symposion Zevistikon (Συμπόσιον Ζευιστικόν) will take place tomorrow on Vultus Templorum.
This will be one of the social activities that will help grow our fellowship as a family and offer our members more opportunities to express themselves, and help each other grow as Zevists. The Zevist Symposium is a 2-hour (can be less or more, depending on activity) "study session", where we engage a subject related to Zevism, and we take the time to create an active group dialogue where misconceptions are cleared up, questions are answered, and we all can gain a better understanding of the topic.
May the Gods bless us with clarity of speech, soundness of mind, and the necessary attitude to make this both a productive time for each participant, as well as something that brings us closer as a spiritual family.
The theme will be "Awareness Meditations - their benefits, and how to best make use of them".
We will begin with a short prayer to the Gods, to bless the entire endeavor and to watch over it.
Next, I prepared a few subjects that can act as conversation starters, with whom we can hopefully get the ball rolling so that everyone can be comfortable expressing themselves. If any Clergy or SG chooses to engage in the discussion, we will pay close attention and make sure to make the best of the time they are giving us, but otherwise it is an equal-level discussion for everyone, as none that do not have Clergy status are in a position to "teach". We guide each other where we can, and receive guidance where we are lacking.
If you have the time to prepare in advance, you could make sure you have:
- Testimonials about your Awareness Meditation experiences (what you've obtained through them, what you learned about them)
- Questions you may have about certain Awareness meditations, issues you've had with them
If you do not have the time for preparation, but still have the time to join in, you can still benefit greatly from this activity.
While I will do my best to encourage each participant to speak out, there is nothing wrong with being more of a listener if you have various reasons you struggle to express yourself.
May this activity be blessed and productive, and I await to see as many of you there as possible.
