Spirit/astral body meditation

I'm having another go at getting an answer, since there was a deafening silence on this one when I asked it last week

I'm meditating on the astral body/akasha. How should it feel? How do I know when I've got it? I feel something near the heart chakra, but I can't be certain that's it. Can someone with some experience give me some sort of answer?

And one more question. This has probably been asked before, but anyway.
Who does Odin correspond to?

<pre> The problem with this question is 9 out of 10 times everyone feels their astral and spiritual experiences very differently so I can't really tell you but you will know when it happens, I sometimes feel like i have fallen through the floor and am very heavy whereas other times i will feel very light i always feel different sorry can't be more help but here is astral projection on the JoS:

As metal_neolith said, it varies greatly between each person. For me, i feel myslef stand up out of my body, or float out of my body sometimes. I would suggest just laying down and practice lifting your astral arm. It feels like your lifting your arm normally, but your not moving it at all, but lifting your astral arm. Lol, its hard to explain...

i do all my projection before i sleep so when i come back my body is rested. and soem times its like it was a dream..it takes about 6 months for a newbie to get it down. constant training every day along with physical training and you should have it down. it all comes down to fear as well. if you have fear of death you wont be able to do it. unfortunetly for me i was abused by muslims all my life so the fear of death is stopping me from projecting conciously i do right befor i go into deep sleep. i am mroe calm this way and my heart doesint go crazy

I thought it would probably be different for everyone. I just feel like it's some sort of energy building up inside me & then letting go, if that makes sense. When I've been interrupted doing this and had to open my eyes suddenly there's definitely a feeling of not being at the same level as the body, if that makes sense as well. As for lifting the astral arm I think I know what you mean. And it is hard to explain!
So once you get the astral/physical body to separate what happens to the physical when you travel astrally?

[En Haradren Amlug]

For me, at least, When my astral body leaves my physical body. It is as if I'm asleep physically, I go on breathing and sitting there. It is really a deep meditative state. But what I see in my mind and third eye are on the astral plane, this is similar to dreaming, but you are more aware and in control.
When i suddenly open my eyes whist AP'ing I too have a sence of 'distance' from my physical body. I can also continue seeing things that i was seeing on the astral there with my eyes open, tho it dosn't last long.
