I came up with this term called "Mandela effect" and at first i thought it was just another conspiracy theory but apparently it's not.. I swear i remembering things differently than they really are and there is nothing wrong with my memory!
A Mandela Effect is where you realise that something you knew to be a general fact of the world, no longer seems to be true. The "effect" is named after a particularly common example: many people remember Nelson Mandela dying in prison in the 1980s, when in fact he survived long after his release.
I think the most amazingly accurant proof to me was The World map - I remember that we studied Australia's geography at school and i was watching the map very carefully because I wanted to remember the places we would have in the exams later - I remember very clearly that New Zealand was at the northern part of the Australia, just above it. Australia was really "Down under" as it was far in the sea apart from Europe/Asia.
Well, apparently it's not. Look:

There is nothing wrong with my memory, I must say. I have had very high scores at school my whole life and I am interested in geography - always memorizing the world map when I see it.
There is much more things that don't seem to be right in The World map. South America for example. It's angle is not right and I remember it being just under the North America when now it isn't.
Could somebody tell what is happening because this is totally weird. Some of you probably don't get this at all when mandela effect seems to affect only some people not all of us.

What about mandela?

The angles and whatnot will never "be right" on a map such as that. It's simply not possible to do when you take a spherical object (earth) and try to lay it flat

What you are experiencing, I call shifts in reality. I haven't so much noticed anything on as grand
a scale as you have. However, lately, I have noticed that things aren't always just the way I remembered
them being. I don't believe I am losing my mind. I, too, have a good memory. But I do believe there
are possibly real reality shifts.

Not sure this helps, but I hope it does.
Hail Satan!

The "mandela effect" was named after Nelson Mandela when many people were shocked finding out that Mandela had indeed died in 2013 when they clearly remembered him dying somewhere 1980s in prison AND even rioting about it back then.
I myself find it strange that I don't seem to have noticed Mandela's death in 2013 even though I follow the news every day. Something as big as that just wouldn't missed me.

Wow this explains why I clearly remember getting my first pet but my family remembers it completely different - they say my older brother named the pet Spot because he couldn't pronounce anything else but I remember giving him that name... That was a little before I started school & my brother's pronunciation was fixed by then

Just a theory, the Nelson Mandela effect where he died in a prison in the 80's could have been because of lame rumors, just the same as when Britney had her mental breakdown and was reported dead in 2007 all over the internet. Comparing this with the 80's, one could not simply confirm that easily he wasn't dead, and because of people in general take media too seriously and lack critical thinking and observational skills. Most of them believed it, and haven't paid attention to it at all, and must have thought there were a junior or some other impersonated person that just was a look-a-like.

There are even rumors that Eminem is dead which people believe, when clearly he is not.

Though, it's just a theory that I have. I have clear memories too about certain things, that other people remember quite differently, and I have a very, very great memory.
