Should I join the national guard and if so how best to prepare?

I have a feeling it's something I should actually do for the training and the sole purpose of that training would be defending home country (on paper anyway) I am late 20's been going to gym off and on (winter is where I usually take a break but I am going to fix that habit because relying on motivation and having excuses is bad.) I am pretty strong, discipline could use some help but I really desire to become as strong and disciplined as possible to be of use physically and hopefully spiritually in any case of the future for our cause.

Should I just avoid the national guard and what alternatives should I strongly consider?

Hail Zeus, Hail Ares, hail the gods, Ave Victoria!

Generally we don't recommend to Zevists to go out there and die on the front for whatever reason the yehuborim has, nor spend 24 hours a day struggling for nothing real.

But you need to ASK THE GODS FOR GUIDANCE. I mean it, you should rely completely on the signs you get from the Gods, and you'll know what they are telling you, if you do their rituals and meditate on them after the ritual. We have a ritual schedule just now. Do their rituals, talk to them after, and meditate on their sigil, connect to their sigil, immerse yourself with it. The more connected are you to the Gods the clearer their signs will be.

You are going trough your Saturn return, please search up the forum for more info about it.

I have a family member that avoided going into the Vietnam war by joining the national guard. He was in there for a few years in America and never had to go to another country.

Be aware that National Guard has been being used a lot recently in increasingly dangerous jobs. They are being used now to defend the southern border where they are fighting with the gangs, and many of them have gotten shot by the Mexican gang members.

National Guard would be a great thing if it was just about doing the training and practicing and doing a few jobs. But there is no guarantee that you won't get sent into dangerous situations.

Look, I understand, some here have given "lukewarm" replies because of a feeling of national patriotism. But I've been there (doesn't that count for something?) and it's not in any way similar to civilian life. More women are joining these days, but male chauvinism is still "very much alive and kicking!" You must go along with the unit mentality, which is usually held by the more senior ranks. If you disagree and try to speak your mind, you are ostracised in ways you couldn't imagine. I was too loud with my opinions and all of a sudden got a "kit inspection" and things were missing from my locker. I was given a weeks punishment in the mess hall cleaning up. One of the senior ranks said to me there one night to keep my mouth shut until I earned some rank.
All officers are "lord almighty", you do what he tells you without question, or you're given time in cells, and never given a promotion. You will find it next to impossible to be alone without interruption to do spiritual work...the list goes on.

But why the fuck would you get into something like that, peace time or not, if you can find many other more beneifical things to do - like working towards the magnum opus???

I would say join the NAVY, but only because I was in the NAVY. I was an airman/helicopter mechanic. Unless you request to be in a warzone, It's basically a 9-5 job with the restriction that you SHALL be a part of all company events and your organization enforces mandatory workouts with your co-workers. So you have that 9-5 job, but you will also have mandatory duty hours to work as well such as standing at a checkpoint with a rifle or checking IDs. That is an ordeal that typically lasts between 8-12 hours depending on which part of the world you're stationed. Basically your experience is determined by your rating (job) in the service. The experience is roughly the same throughout all the branches, and you'll have a training period that can last anywhere from 2 months to several years depending on the assignment (job) you get, so that you aren't completely useless when you finally join the fleet.

My advice would be not to allow yourself to be peer pressured by the culture surrounding you. I saw a lot of people pick up drinking and tobacco. Just a lot of shenanigans 🤪 in general. Can't say I was immune, but I was also a lot younger back then. Met a lot of amazing people.

This I think is one of the best replies for the OP to take note of. The National Guard isn’t as lax as it seems to the eyes of a civilian, and especially with the recent changes in border policy, there’s a strong chance that’s where you’d end up if your state guard is a southern state especially. The cartels are mean, and though not quite the menace they were before, they’re unpredictable and violent people who wouldn’t think twice before firing at US troops.

I advise consulting the Gods first and foremost, but I can’t in good conscience in this present transitory era recommend any Zevist join the military or law enforcement.

Yeah its starting to sound more and more like a poor idea, any combat that could be found in it would not be worth it, gonna however definitely try to emulate a lot of the training they do and other things similar perhaps. Dont gotta be American military to work on following some of their discipline.
