Hey, does anyone know what to do if you don't have any of the materials for a ritual? Like if you only have a candle, what could you do so that the ritual is valid? Any Suggestions?
You could alter/adapt the ritual so that all you need is the candle.
One of the best things, though, is to build for yourself an astral temple. In it, you can put whatever ritual materials you need. You decorate it for yourself and can add/subtract items and even change decor as you wish. In other words, astral temples will evolve with use and familiarity.
The ideal is to be able to perform ritual without props. I have used very few props and that was when I was new. My decision was based not only on the unavailability of props or difficulty acquiring them, but mostly that I found them more of a distraction than a help and I definitely didn't want to become dependent on them. (What happens, for instance, when you need to perform a working and there's no props to hand? This places an unwanted limitation on our workings.) Almost all my work is done from within my astral temple and it has been my experience that this amplifies power rather than diminish it.
