That is true Decipimur, which is why I thought to bring this to people's attention.

That law does not directly make owning guns illegal, only guns that have parts in it which increase the rate of fire on a semi-automatic weapon.

However as this man in the video I linked explains, there is no set fire rate for semi-automatic weapons, but pretty much all semi automatic weapons have parts in them that increase the rate of fire, such as certain triggers or even parts that increase reloading speeds and what not.

If this law gets passed then any gun can be taken away from people in America due to there not being any quantifiable statements about standard fire rates on semi-automatic weapons and due to there not being any clearly defined parameters for which weapons or parts are considered "fire rate increasing parts or components" in the discriptikn of the proposed law itself.

On the spot it can be decided that any weapon is illegal because someone decides the fire rate is increased by some means and the person accused of owning a weapon that has parts which increase the fire rate have no grounds to defend themselves on since there is no baseline or parameter to determine whether they actually break this "law" or not.

It is worded completely open ended, which means it can be used to disown all guns in America without anyone being able to effectively defend themselves against this.

To any person not educated on gun laws or the way guns function this law might sound harmless or completely reasonable, but when you read between the lines you can see how malicious and sneaky this is.
