recommitment

Greetings all,

As I've stated previously, due to preassure from my family I stopped practicing magick and basically was a hollow void. I've decided to say fuck you to everyone and follow my hearts desire, my true path here. My question is, should I write a ritual designed to recommit to Lucifer? I've been dedicated for many years and I know performing another dedication is redundant as Lucifer never left my heart. The christians my ex forced me to associate with constantly claimed I was demon possessed. They claimed they could see a demonic aura around me and wanted to exorcise me which I refused. During this time I returned back to using drugs and drinking heavily and my life basically shattered to pieces.

Anyhow, what do you all think?

The dedication ritual is permanent. Period. No need to to repeat it. If you want, you can do some standard or thanksgiving ritual instead. We are all humans and we inevitebly make mistakes from time to time. The key here is to understand the mistake and learn from it.

The only time you may wish to even think of repeating the dedication formality is if you couldn't do it right the first time.  Usually, this is because you had to do it on the astral the first time.  You might wish to repeat the formality if you totally screwed up (such as not getting any blood on the paper at all) and wish to do a better procedure--this is not a necessity as your dedication is based on sincerity the first time.[/B]  Don't waste time redoing the dedication because of a minor mistake (such as forgetting a "So mote it be", the paper not burning totally, not getting "enough" blood on the paper, messing up on pronouncing things, etc.) In the event of a lapse, you just pick up where you left off.  Chances are good that you will have to start at a lower level, but you can work back up.  This is not a betrayal of anyone other than yourself, unlike the xian religions that feel betrayed if anyone lapses.  So long as it is merely a lapse (not keeping up with meditations, dropping your rituals, going along with family and being dragged off to church for their sake, getting too busy with work and other things to keep up spiritual things), no major problem.  Just pick up again--you will find yourself weaker, but you can build back up.
