They both came from a devout Catholic background, with some in their families going into the Catholic clergy, as they believed this was the proper thing to do as good Catholics; they expected this of me, which always made me feel uncomfortable.
I remember saying to my father in his latter years that he had nothing to show for a lifetime of devotion to Catholicism, and he gave me some nonsense about "the salvation of the soul". I replied to him that this was one hell of a gamble to take with no reasonable facts (tangible proof) to back it up!
This is probably the reason why I left xianity, and why I always searched for something more credible and meaningful.
The start to a new beginning for me is when I came (or was lead) to the JoS website...and have not looked back since.
I know a lot of other people here can relate to this because it is not uncommon.
My point is; that times are slowly changing; people are better informed then when their parents were growing up, and if anyone chooses, they can find the truth their looking for.
Satan is always here for all Gentiles who are searching for His truth...and He will never give up on us!
