I would like to know the duty of each rank in Nobility please because google and wikipedia i think is corrupted and so I don't like to trust sources that don't come from HP's.
Nobility Ranking"
-Prince
-King
-Marquis
-Duke
-Earl
-President
I found this on Yahoo answers:
The are just ranks for the nobility not royalty now. They originally came from a variety of sources either germanic or Roman and were originally military titles but have since become Civilian and more political but in more recent years just ceremonial.
Royal and noble "rankings"
ROYAL & IMPERIAL
Emperor/Empress
High King/Queen
King/Queen
Archduke/Archduchess
Grand Duke/Duchess
Prince/ss
NOBILITY
Duke/Duchess
Marquis/Marchioness
Earl(Count)/Countess
Viscount/ess
Baron/Baroness
OTHER TITLES
Baronette/ss
Knighthood
It use to be in the British Peerage that if you held such a title in your own right you had a seat in the House of Lords. A bit like the US Senate. Now the life Peers elect 92 representatives from amongst themselves to sit in the House of Lords.
