Rasputin was a monk who was believed to be the second coming of christ to some, while others believed him to be the devil or the antichrist. None of which is true, except him leaving his peasant family to be a monk, then turned mystic. Rasputin believed that the only way to be forgiven of sin, was to sin profoundly. He raped women and children and had fake healing powers.
