I know things get very HOT but my only experience is hot lower chakras.
I'm wondering if things may just feel and act hot, but really the temperature is "physically" maybe around a "normal" level like if it were to be taken with a thermometer?

When do things really become a concern with the heat? anything out of the norm? since it's meditation and it might not be totally like a 3rd dimension fire?

I guess it's your Kundalini acting up... Sorry, I can't help you in the matter, so I hope someone else will be able to suggest something.

This happens to me frequently to. What I do, is I visualize it rising up into my chest area then into my limbs; it sort of distributes the heat. If it feels like the heat is trapped on your solar plexus, try doing the Sushumna Expansion meditation found on the JOS meditation page. If you want to know if it is physical or all astral, try getting as hot as you can without internally burning yourself; then take your temperature. If it reads normal, it was all astral. If it reads high, then the energy has affected you physically. Hope this helps!

From my understanding, your bio-energies are rising. When I started doing power meditations, I too went through a lot of lower body heat. Since at that point, your lower chakras are still getting opened and getting stronger, when your Kundalini rises, you will experience a lot of body heat, especially the base and sacral chakra. You may also face a lot of heat w.r.t digestion and excretion (that is the side effect I had). The other side effect I had due to excessive heat was nose bleeding (may not be the case with you). But once, your energy rises and your chakras are strengthened (through continuous meditation), you will be able to handle the heat better.
What I suggest is, take a break if you are experiencing too much body heat. Once you feel that your body temperature is back to normal, you can resume the meditation again.

I loooove it when it heats up, feels nice and warm.
Though the skin around my base chakra gets itchy sometimes

my base was pretty spicy at one point, and it felt sort of hot to someone else, but not as hot as it felt to me internally. it felt like I was right on a fire. sitting on it. or something. not in a really uncomfortable way though.

O well thanks for the input guys :) its always much appreciated, I especially like hearing other experiences. Yeah balancing the heat seems definitely important, and I guess whether or not the physical temperature is high.... we will discover.

Digestion and what not aye? That's interesting, actually I just noticed something speaking of that. ever since I started meditating I really haven't had many intestinal issues which I did before. All the time.
