Question about the squares

What counts as a spiritual pursuit? Would trying to get very good at something, skill-wise i.e. art (painting, etc), science (understanding concepts, etc), english (excellent rhetoric, etc), be a spiritual or a material pursuit?

Spiritual things are raising your kundalini, empowering your aura and things like that, and also balancing the planets in the astro chart. That's why it's said that if you do the spiritual part it doesn't need an affirmation because it's either generic or chakra based. All these you mentioned are material since they are daily life based and have nothing to do with your soul (indirectly related doesn't count).
