Question about the baphomet...

I was looking through JOS the other day, and some questions popped into my mind...

Where EXACTLY did the Baphomet symbol originate? Why use it?

And an additional one: Are there any symbols for Satan outside of the usual "sources" one can find (where) and use?

Dumb questions, I know, but at least they get to the point.

I was kinda questioning the same though it would be cool to get a true Satans sigil necklace or amulet as seen on JoS symbol not those ones without the Ankh hanging down to get to the detail.

It is a supposed symbol of the Slavic god Perun. Do you think it is a legitimate sigil for that god?

Not sure about that, it does have a variation of the 8-pointed Star of Astaroth inside with the sun, thats pretty much Satanic. The other things i dunno.

This God sounds much like Thor or Zeus, he could be the same being. I mean, he has a copper beard like Thor, wields a hammer like Thor's Mjollnir and is a thunder god.

Wiki shows two such sumbols of Perun , do you think they are altered by xian church in any way? Those are 6-pointed http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perun wiki also mentions that the church had a hard time overcoming the worship of the old supreme dieties of Slavs .

For Krzsiek:As you said, the church had an extremely hard time forcing their religion on the Slavs. Perun's warrior cult, still in existence today, was most resistant. As for the symbols, I have my doubts they are changed. The Slavs have a tendency to mold new ways to fit their old ways.
I'm not too sure, but I don't think the symbols are changed at all.
The Slavs are still pagan at heart.
