Does it matter how long we vibrate words of power as long as we get them right? I usually vibrate some words very long and extend them until im out of breath but most of the time that leaves me gasping for breath in the middle of workings and it can be overall exhausting and tiring by the time I get done with the reps. Does it matter how long we vibrate words for as long as we are focusing on feeling the energy of the vibration?

Yes, it does. Longer and slower releases more power, whereas shorter and faster, less. Mentally the same, but mental vibrations are less potent, to begin with.

Do what is comfortable and natural for you. You should not overextend as that would be counterproductive. Over time, this can be trained so you are able to do longer exhalations.

Lydia once made a suggestion a while back.

Try and vibrate long mantras/slowly for example A-U-M takes a long time to vibrate AAA-UUU-MMM. But for example Ninghizada the Necronomicon vibration requires some practice and is shorter. For example Surya cleaning is faster vibrated than RAUM. So Surya eats up a lot of breath with the hiss thus you need to practice. The R in RAUM is easier to vibrate than the hiss as the hiss eats up a lot of air but the vibrated R or rolled R uses very little air per cycle of vibration.

As Lydia suggest try and use 70%-to-80% of your lungs to vibrate. Don't vibrate till your squeezing off the lungs don't add pain or discomfort to the list. Simply use the majority of your air but keep a minority of air in the bottom of your lungs. Don't over vibrate but don't under vibrate just right. Consider your lungs 100% consider 70-80% as your target vibration and thus they become the 100% so 100%(70-80%) with 20-30% as your reserve.

Never gasp or shock your lungs gasping for air. Same for Pranayama it's not a contest nor is it to harm your health. Particularly with Pranayama.

The only time I'd say vibrate till your lungs are fully depleted is Humming breath and even then you'll probably realize during humming the lungs naturally remove all the air and you take a full Yogic breath for the next humming vibration. Without causing issues.

But for the mantras/vibrations 70-to-80% and your good. No need to blast out the extra few seconds of air capacity. So build your mantras over the 70-80 percentage area and you'll be doing good.

Slower longer vibrations per letter or per grouping such as KH, DH, or TH such as Thaum. We can vibrate individual letters or syllables so keep that in mind.

Longer vibrations are more powerful, very noticeably with SATANAS, but also have to be comfortable for maximum focus. It might be better to do more reps or days than extend things to a point you feel like you're gasping.

Please do not force yourself to exhale air since it can cause clotting or asphyxiation in extreme cases. Remember to raise your energies beforehand too by programming mantras like SATANAS to raise your energies. Feeling exhausted can interfere or make you say things wrong, give up, etc.
