Why can "THE FIVE NAMES OF MARDUK" be used? They seem to me more like a book of alien invocation than a manifestation of the power of the Gods.

Use runes. Runes are the "extensions" of the gods' power. If the goal is the same, why use other methods that are not "safe"?
