Part Five: La cura

This is where the Sacred Prayers of the Lord Osiris take on special significance within this process. Liturgical healings can be understood as various ways of recovering what has been altered by pathologies. It is not a matter of eliminating a specific emotion, but rather of restoring the capacities that enable us to relate properly to our experience.

An emotion may exist, but if our perception is distorted, we can misinterpret it. We might feel fear and assume a divine threat exists; feel guilt and assume we are unworthy; feel desire and believe we must obey it; or feel reverence and mistake it for submission. The emotion exists, but the meaning attributed to it may have been learned.

That is why the cure needs to reach beyond emotion.

The prayers of the healings work precisely on those capacities: presence, clarity, purification, order, relationship with the Gods, memory, knowledge, and access to truth. These are not merely things to be replaced by others, but conditions that allow for a better understanding of what we experience.

This also changes the way we can understand the practice of prayer. It is not simply a matter of asking for what we feel to disappear. It is about developing the inner conditions that allow us to see it more clearly.

If there is confusion, we need clarity to distinguish.

If there is a false interpretation, we need knowledge to examine it.

If there is a trace of the past, we need memory to recognize it.

If there is disorder, we need to restore order.

If there is a relationship with the divine based on fear or unworthiness, we need to re-establish a different relationship with the Gods.

In this way, the treatments do not necessarily act on the emotion itself, but rather on the relationship we have with it.

This point is fundamental. The problem is not necessarily feeling fear, guilt, sadness, desire, anger, or love. The problem can arise when we lose the ability to discern the meaning of what we feel and allow an external interpretation to decide for us.

Prayers, then, can accompany the process of recovering that capacity.

Awareness meditations allows one to observe: this is what I am feeling.

Clarity allows one to ask: what does this really mean?

Knowledge allows one to investigate: where does this interpretation come from?

And liturgical healings allow one to work spiritually on the capacities needed to regain clarity, order, truth, and a relationship with the Gods.

That is why the cure does not consist of replacing one emotion with another. Nor does it consist of telling the person what they should feel. It consists of regaining the freedom necessary to experience an emotion, understand it, and consciously decide what meaning to give it.

The Sacred Prayers of Lord Osiris were especially important to my own process because, by working with them, I found a spiritual structure that allowed me to contemplate these matters with greater clarity. The experience of prayer did not replace reflection; rather, it provided a context from which I could observe, relate, and understand what I was practicing.

Thus, healing and working with emotions can converge at the same point: recovering the ability to relate consciously to our inner experience.

It is not about ceasing to feel.

It is about reclaiming ownership of what we feel, rather than letting another person, an institution, or a learned interpretation decide in advance what it means and what we ought to do about it.

The cure restores the space between feeling, interpreting, and acting.

And within that space, something fundamental re-emerges: the possibility of knowing.

In Honor of the Goddess Aphrodite

This writing is dedicated to the Goddess Aphrodite, source of inspiration, knowledge, and understanding of all that belongs to Her realm.

May these words be offered in Her honor, with gratitude for what She allows us to know, contemplate, and understand through experience, love, and emotion.

To Aphrodite, Goddess of love and beauty: honor, gratitude, and respect.

Finally, I apologize for any grammatical errors. My primary language is Spanish.

I love you all very much, Zevist family.

Finally, the title was The Cure. For a moment, I didn't realize it was in Spanish.
