I've always wanted to make a post encouraging something, but only now I felt I can put it properly.
Any Zevist reading this should try to read it to the end, as it is important.
A lot was lost when the ancient religions were replaced and ransacked by Christianity and Islam. "Pagan" ways of thought, "pagan" ways of living, "pagan" life in general. Truly, this is not "pagan" as much as washing oneself or cooking food is pagan, these things were reasonable, true, and became common sense due to reason.
One thing that was destroyed in Europe and the Middle East is the concept of Oral Tradition.
Many historians today do not even consider the pagan religions truly "religions", as they were heavily engaged and intertwined with material life, and also had a powerful Oral Tradition, not a set "doctrine".
This does not make them any less religions, it is a natural characteristic of religions and spiritualities that affirm life and reality, and the true Gods.
With this point, we should touch upon the enemy, and Judaism as a religion.
Many people in various discourse online say that "Judaism is the most pagan of all abrahamic faiths". This is highly reductive, as Judaism isn't just "another religion", it is a reversal of typical religious practice, hyperfixated and aimed on group supremacy and discrimination.
However, there are some "pagan" (see above, REASONABLE AND REALISTIC) practices from ancient faiths that Judaism did keep.
One of these is Oral Tradition, rather than "doctrine".
In Islam and Christianity, there is no real oral tradition, only doctrine in their "scriptures", which are considered infallible and the religion is built around them. This is stupid, especially when your scripture was written by Hebrews.
However, in judaism, there was actually no doctrine, and there still technically isn't a fully agreed upon set of typical "holy books".
In their second temple period, they had groups that believed the Tanakh was holy, whereas other groups believed only the Torah was.
What mattered the most was the "oral torah", which was, for them, the most heinous and supremacist, as some of the common "oral discussions" can be seen in their Talmud.
Religion, in ancient times, lived through the culture and the people. Rituals and ceremonies were built into daily life for individuals, families, and societies, and knowledge would come from life, the Gods, and from teachers and priests.
Gentiles currently do not have a real religion with a real Oral Tradition.
But having one is incredibly beneficial. How can a Zevist find one?
By talking on the Forums. By getting involved in projects. By joining the VT Element server and Temple. By being active, here.
One day, we'll have temples, famous personalities, freedom of expression, respect and popularity as never before, as I and other Zevists each do what we can to grow the community.
But we are growing a community so that Zevists can have a community.
Take part in it, and take advantage of it.
If you're simply lurking as a guest, but are Dedicated, (as many are), or simply curious about Zevism, make an account, engage in Forum discussions and post some posts yourself!
If you post more rarely, also engage!
And if you are doing God Rituals at all, you simply have to join the Element Temple.
Let's work to build a stronger community bond over time.
