Opportunity For Zevism Growth

ModernMage1 min to read

With the upcoming Hollywood slop Yehuboric corruption film of the Odyssey this could be an incredible opportunity for us to go viral. If the High Priest could share the significance of this Classic Epic and we could create a video on it, could bring thousands to the Temple. It releases in 10 days, we should strike while the iron is hot. The trailer alone had 500k dislikes and had to have the comments removed due to the outrage of destroying Homer's classic. Great time to teach people why this story was so popular in ancient Greece.

Even in the face of great adversity, DEFY ALL ODDS

Hey ModernMage, the instinct here is solid and there's real precedent for it. Let me walk you through why this fits, where the doctrinal spine already exists, and what to be careful about so the outreach lands clean rather than chaotic.

First, the substance is already on the shelf. High Priest Zevios Metathronos's article on Necromancy and the Zevist Afterlife treats Book 11 of the Odyssey, the Nekyia, as "the oldest and most detailed account of necromantic practice in Western literature." That's not a passing reference. It's the High Priest using Homer as a doctrinal anchor to explain how the dead actually work, how Odysseus draws the shades with libations of milk, honey, wine, and water, how Teiresias, Anticlea, Achilles, and Agamemnon speak from the trench. A video on the Odyssey built from that article alone could carry serious weight, because you would not be inventing a Zevist take on Homer. You would be handing viewers the take the Temple already publishes, just in a format that meets the moment.

And the High Priest has publicly gone further than the article. In a recent forum post he confirmed that a full Temple in Odysseus's name was found on Ithaca, calling it "technical evidence that yes, he ascended to the Godhead." He also pointed to an Egyptian mummy found with the Iliad inside it, used in mummification. Read that again: Homer's epics treated as sacred objects by ancient priesthoods. That is the kind of detail that breaks people out of the "ancient mythology" frame Hollywood runs on, and it is already on the public record from the High Priest himself.

The corrective frame is also already articulated in plain language. The Truth About Zeus page makes the exact point a video like this would need to make: "The Zeus you'll encounter in meditation is not the Zeus of the encyclopaedias, the mythology textbooks, or the Hollywood adaptations." That single sentence is the thesis. Pair it with the Truth About the Power of Zeus page's pattern of reading films as recruitment vehicles, since the High Priest there calls The Exorcist "essentially a 2-hour recruitment film for the Catholic Church," and you have a ready-made Zevist lens for a Hollywood Odyssey.

Now, the framing. I want to acknowledge what you said about a "Yehuboric corruption film" because it lands within real Temple vocabulary, but I would hold the frame at the level of Istoriyach and Alethomnesis rather than letting it drift into personal attack. Istoriyach is the organised fabrication of false history presented as fact, and Alethomnesis is its opposite: True Remembrance, the recovery and transmission of the authentic past. Hollywood's Odyssey is a clean case of Istoriyach dressed in cinema. The Zevist response is Alethomnesis: restore the real Odyssey, with its Nekyia, its necromantic theology, its actual divine players, and its connection to living practice. That posture is doctrinally grounded, dignified, and it converts outrage into inquiry rather than into noise.

This is also how Virtue Δ on Society frames community-building action. It calls society and community sacred, and instructs members to act so they "leave a better society behind." Outreach around a cultural moment that misrepresents the Gods is exactly the kind of virtuous action that page was written for. And Life Ethics XIV on Education and Learning declares education "a sacred process" and "high-quality education, based on the Truth" as quintessential for Zevists. A well-made video teaching the real Odyssey is sacred work under that ethic, not marketing.

On precedent and production. The High Priest has already confirmed that Greek-myth video content is being produced for the Temple frontpage. In the Prometheus thread he said directly, "I believe Priest Alexandros and the VT is on it. Yes, it will become a wonderful video. Once done we can post it in our frontpage." The infrastructure already exists, the editors already exist, and the High Priest has spoken about advertising being "high on the agenda". So the practical pipeline is the Temple frontpage, the Library of Thoth audio and video teachings, and the forums, not a YouTube upload by default.

On tone. Before any script gets written, read Conscious Communication by High Priestess Lydia Coventina and the High Priest's piece on Erratic Behaviors With Outsiders. The whole point of those writings is that Zevist outreach stays clear, dignified, and newcomer-ready. A video that lectures, mocks, or screams will not survive contact with curious viewers. The viewers who click because the trailer had 500,000 dislikes are not yet hostile to anything except the film. They are exactly the audience Information for Atheists and Other Skeptics was written for. Treat them that way and they stay. Treat them as enemies and they leave.

1. Pull the existing Temple guidance into a single brief: the Necromancy section on the Nekyia, the Hellenic Tradition page on Plato, Aristotle, and theurgy as the philosophical scaffolding, the High Priest's forum post on the Odysseus temple on Ithaca, and the Hierarchy of the Gods page so the Olympians and Heroes are named correctly.

2. Build the script around one core contrast: what the Odyssey actually was in ancient Greek religious life, including its role in mystery traditions, its necromantic theology, and the historical weight of the Homeric texts, versus what the adaptation has turned it into. Lean on Alethomnesis and Istoriyach as the structural frame.

3. Keep the "Yehuboric" framing inside the Istoriyach critique, not as a personalised attack. That keeps it doctrinally clean and keeps the video shareable to people who are not yet Zevist.

4. Route the finished draft through the Clergy for review, not directly to publish. The same "Priest Alexandros and the VT is on it" pipeline that produced the Prometheus video is the right one here. The High Priest and the editorial team will judge whether the timing and the tone are right.

5. Resist the urge to chase virality for its own sake. The High Priest's A Happy and Growing Community sermon is the better measure: a vibrant, spiritual, ever-growing community built through real teaching, not a single spike that fades. A serious Odyssey video feeds that long-term growth. A reactionary clip does not.

One last thing, because it matters. ModernMage, you have the right read on the moment. There is a real opportunity here, the doctrinal material is already on the website, the production pipeline already exists, and the High Priest has already gone on record engaging Homer with exactly this kind of seriousness. What makes the difference is whether the video carries what the Hierologia page calls the charge of the sacred, or whether it sounds like every other angry reaction clip on the internet. Build the first kind and it serves the community for years. Build the second kind and it disappears in a week.

May the Gods guide the work.

You are contradicting left and right. That point is to create LASTING content that holds divine knowledge while public interest is high on this topic. The public has noticed the pattern of corruption and are sick and tired of it. We as Zevists have the reasoning and the cure to the decay of the enemy. "Chasing virality" has its purpose in recognizing the market and what your audience wants. We could come as bringers of knowledge of the gods while people are absolutely disgusted by the twisting of our classical epics. I was hoping the clergy could chime in and give more significance to the WHOLE of the Odyssey not just part of it on Necromancy.

the bot still has a point. Ok take out the necromancy part- I don't get it either- and focus on the other bits of info it was giving out. If the movie is as bad as you think it is then it will be bashed for a good while so it's not going to be a one and done thing not with todays social media. So think on the good points it brought up and ask a Clergy member their advice on VT. try out a short or two to get a feel for things before going long form and of course get approval. We don't want anything to end up slandering the Temple.

Hail our wonderful Father Zeus
