As within the symbolic tradition the head sun God is also the personification of the pefected sol/soul. And the journey of the initiate to his own Godhead. And as such the initiate identified themselves with the God[Satan] as they where becoming the meaning of the saga. And the God was also within them, the Kundalini. The holy spirit [originally Pagan] is where that was stolen from. Hence they become the God on the symbolic level.
This is where the xians picked up the concept of being christ like from without ever getting what this ment in the original tradtion of Pagan Egypt where this title was lifted from[this term was also applied int he greater Vedic world Egypt was part of]. Christos[prounced Chreestus] was the title of the Pagan sun God who had perfected himself by the alchemical process. So one who had perfected themselves carried this title as well it seems. And one working on it was Chreestus like. Because that is what Chreestus did. And Chreestus is perfected so a perfected one is also a Chreestus.

I always used to wonder about that as a child, how Santa is an anagram for Satan. I didn't believe in Santa since my parents were noisy putting out the presents and I was a light sleeper... Anyway, Dec 21 or 22 (depends on the year) is Winter Solstice, and Dec 23 is Satan's day. His planet is Venus, which rules Fridays, and Mondays are his day of the week. But we can worship, as you put it, him anytime, any how.
