not sure what this light is, need help.

the person i live with out of a camera at 1:30 this morning saw a basketball size ball of light that was floating around the camera, he said it was the most intense and brightest light he has ever seen, and it was sorta breathing in and out, pulsing. and after it disappeared he had a sharp pain in the back of his head like someone stuck a needle in there. i was not up at the time to see this, but if anyone can tell me what this is, good or bad, what i need to do, ya know all of that. thank you.
