Hey I've heard the phrase many times that to be a satanist you must cut your ties with Christianity, does this mean never speaking to my christian family members, friends, and all that? Or does it just mean not to pray or believe the actual religion at all?

 That's entirely up to you. Common sense dictates the latter option is essential. As for the former, if they are still loving members of your family who are not too deep into xianity, then I would continue talking to them.
