New forums redesign and login issues

Hi, there!

First of all, I'd like to say the new rendition of the forums looks stunning!

It takes a bit of getting used to, but it's really satisfying and it makes our Temple look even more honorable.

It might be a bit too early to ask, as a lot must be in development right now, but I'm facing login issues - so far, I've only been able to log in to my account through a code sent to my email address. When I try logging in with my current password, it says it's incorrect, and if I try to update my password, it says my email address is incorrect (even though I can log in just fine through the email code).

Is there anything I should do to get around this? Or is it just something that needs to be fixed?

Thank you! I may possibly have overlooked something the first time I tried, but I just did a password reset and it worked now.

Now I'll explain what's happening.

From what I understand, they're unifying their systems. From now on, you'll log in using your VultusTemplorum account, so you should use your VultusTemplorum password and no longer the old ancient-forums password. This is likely to encourage registration on the platform and to unify the temple's infrastructure. Furthermore, to approve access, you must also log in using the email address you use for the forum. The system will detect the session cookie, which is an additional security strategy. Honestly, I absolutely love this huge change. Everything makes the temple unique, even this new CSS style makes the forum different from all the other forums I've seen online.

Interesting!

A while ago, I thought to myself that maybe the main Temple of Zeus website could be unified with the forums, the Hall of Osiris, Vultus Templorum, and Astro Apollo as well - so that we would have fewer standalone webpages lying around and so that people would be encouraged to go through the Temple of Zeus, which should be the starting point for every new initiate. Of course I don't know how feasible this would be in practice, though.

And I agree - I'm really enjoying how visibly pleasant it all is :)

I have the same problems. It was difficult to figure out how to log in with it keep saying that my username and password does not exist. And it is very inconvenient the way that it is. It would be helpful if there was a pinned announcement post with instructions for this, because the way it looks like when signing in is like our accounts don't exist anymore. And it says nobody is allowed to make an account at this time. I know there are many members who have said that they are not able to access the email that was originally used to create the account.

Also it looks like dark mode is the only choice and there is no choice for light mode anymore. I have problems with my eyes that make dark mode a lot more difficult to read.

When I wasn't able to log on, I tried to go to vultus templorum to see if there is instructions there. And I was not able to log on there either because it is the same system. My password for that also does not work.

Also I guess there is no button anymore to see a list of unread or updated topics. I can't find it. I found some list, but it shows every individual reply seperately so a topic shows up several different times if there are multiple recent replies, and it only shows a few of them.

Well, what eventually worked for me was: 1. Entering my email address; 2. At the screen where it asks you to enter your password, clicking "forgot your password" before you submit any password at all.

At this point, I had been submitting my password and only clicking "forgot your password" after it said my password was wrong. For some reason, this wasn't working.

As for the dark mode, I found a color scheme option in the settings which you could give a try. I didn't really try it in depth as I am personally okay with the dark mode, but I have a hunch that it only affects small elements such as button and bar colors.

At this point, I had been submitting my password and only clicking "forgot your password" after it said my password was wrong. For some reason, this wasn't working.

I saw that thing for different colors. It only changes some buttons to a different tint but there is no light one.

It also looks like there is not a notification anymore when somebody replies to a topic that I have made a comment on before. I did not get any notification about a reply on this topic like I usually would. I guess because you didn't specifically quote my message.

Oh, this issue with the notification happened to me as well. I thought that since I was using the direct reply button and the replies now appear underneath the message it refers to, you would be notified automatically. It seems manually quoting is still needed, then.

The design is very nice, but it seems some options have disappeared, such as viewing profile posts, and the forum often slows down and is difficult to navigate.

Cannot "ignore" users anymore either, someone i previously applied this to is on feed again, with updated site. I let SG ApolloAbove know, today.

I have to notify that the search function doesnt work at all for me , and i would also raccomend to keep it with the filters like before
