I just to want to let some people know about a good incense you can make.
Pine resin incense.
You can collect the pine resin off a pine tree and use it as a incense for rituals/workings/etc.
It smells really good for the most part, really piney smell.
How to collect it is simple. Find a pine tree and look for parts of the tree that are damaged or branches that been cut. They appear there, because just like how scabs form for our cuts, pine trees secrete resin as a defense to close wounds from insects or other forces. To keep it protected. Also you can use the resin for more than incense, its also great for treating wounds and has a bunch of good properties.
How to use it.
Good method :
Bamboo charcoal
Anything to Hold the charcoal in place (Could be a bucket of sand, a ceramic cup, or a brass holder, anything)
Directions:
Light up the bamboo charcoal until its completely lit, place the charcoal in your holder, then place the resin on top of the charcoal, and your done.
Poor mans method:
Metal Spoon
Candle flame or anything with a open flame.
Object to hold the spoon over the flame.
Light your candle or open flame, place the spoon above the flame and place the object to hold it in place under the spoon, place your resin in the spoon and it will slowly start to melt.
Anyways I hope some of you find this interesting or appealing. I actually found this out today, went out and collected some, and it smelt really nice. I also want to let you know that it burns up quite fast and sometimes it melts around the charcoal extinguishing it. You can also melt down the resin and add your own herbs or mixtures with it to enhance it.
