N00b question - please don't hate!

I was just wondering - on a lot of the posts I notice a lot of u say 'Hail the Gods of Duat' I was just wondering - what exactly is Duat? Is it where Father and all the demons live? I don't mind if some1 just posts me the link, il read it myself I'm just very interested in our customs, history, terms, u name it.. Again pls don't b mad-I just can't seem to find it on JoS. Also I only have slow Internet on my phone-that's y it takes me a while to find stuff and really appreciate being pointed out in the direction of things. I know u aren't 'tour guides' but if any 1 could help I'd appreciate it

You may already know that many of the great monuments of early civilizations were astronomically aligned. The accurate cardinal orientation of the Great Pyramids at Giza in Egypt is outstanding examples. Giza seems to have been designed with very strict geometrical rules laid down from the start. If we want to understand the monuments of ancient Egypt, we have to think in terms of heaven and earth. "As above, so below", as the ancient hermetic texts put it.
