When I saw this thread and saw that it had a response, I had this gut feeling that the reply was going to be something retarded yet unjustifiably snarky at the same time; the kind of post non-/ex-Satanists use as examples in their anti-JoS groups for why people shouldn't bother listening to us or take us seriously. It wasn't something I wanted to be proven right about, but here we are.
At the very least you are potentially correct in declaring this to be arbitrary; numerology
is important and sometimes it can be difficult to pick up on it, but at the same time, without knowing whatever calculation in Pilot's birthday leads to 666, I can't say. It could be like me taking my birthday and saying "Well if I divide this by ten, add these two digits and subtract the total by five, I get 100." Too many steps there for it to even be coincidental, let alone numerologically important. Perhaps there is something to Pilot's birthdate, but I do lean towards it being coincidental.
That being said, to Pilot, I wouldn't term this a conundrum either. Likely it is just a neat coincidence that you can share with people that'll appreciate a good 666 reference. But, perhaps there is something to it, again I lack the information and knowledge to say. It's something to keep in mind as you keep studying and eventually start making serious spiritual gains.
