Is the Hispanic last name munoz a variation of the Jewish last name munz? Or is it just an Hispanic last name?

I would guess it is, google searches lead to links claiming the last name was jewish.

It couldn't be strictly jewish, it's a common last name in Mexico, like smith is here although not quite that common
