Actually yes, turning your eyes upwards does help in concentration, that's why it's used in many meditations. Oops forgot to mention that.

I was hoping a mudra in void would help with my concentration as I've been
having a bit of difficulty in that department lately

You don't need to use a mudra in void meditation unless you want to
empower something, like turning your eyes upwards and focusing on your 3rd
eye when doing void meditation, so you develop your 3rd eye at the same
time. I think void meditation is passive and used for training your mind
mostly, not opening your chakras, raising your kundalini or anything like
that, mudras are usually used in these situations.

Many exercises in JoS as well as kundalini yoga exercises do include
mudras. When you do the chakra opening exercises, what do you think
you're
doing with your hands?
Other examples, the basic spinal series, the
SA
TA NA MA meditation, they use some of the mudras below:

They are usually used when you're doing something else or meditating,
together with other exercises.
There are other things which don't involve your hands, but are
considered
mudras as well. For example when you turn your eyes upwards towards
your
3rd eye when meditating, this is called Shambhavi mudra in Sanskrit.
