So I was just watching the 2007 stop motion version of Beowulf and there was a line in the movie that I really liked. I found it pretty insightful actually:
Wiglaf: Your legend is known from the high seas and the snow barriers to the Great Island Kingdom - you are the Monster Slayer.
Beowulf: We men are the monsters now. The time of heroes is dead, Wiglaf - the Christ God has killed it, leaving humankind with nothing but weeping martyrs, fear, and shame.
Thought this was an awesome quote to share
Even though there isn't really a "christ", I feel pretty sure that if there was, this is all he'd leave behind.
