Maya Fiennes Yoga - A journey through the chakras

Greetings all brothers and sisters in Satan. I have recently come to practice the above kundalini yoga and have a couple of questions. I have practised Hatha Yoga for several years before coming to this style of practice. 
One mantra used before each practice that I feel a bit wary of as the yoga instructor states along the lines of 
"Ong namo guru dev namo"
"connecting to the golden chain of ascended masters"
Sounds like some dubious new age crap. do any members have experience using this mantra. Is it safe for Zevism use? 
I would recommend the product overall as it helps to amass energy and empower chakras very quickly compared to Hatha yoga.

Forget about mantras they showed you on that website. Just do the yoga part.

I've been doing the Raviana dvd's for over 5 years and they do the same mantra at the beginning of all dvd's. I have always ignored it and just focused on long deep breathing or balancing my energy instead.

Regarding the mantra for solar chakra
I'm wondering if ram is less powerful version of raum
and then can be replaced with it
Or it is ok this way and should not be replaced with raum

Ram is a corruption of RAUM. You should use RAUM for your solar chakra, not Ram.

Ana Brett and Ravi Singh (they condensed their names to Raviana). They have over 20 dvd's. All are great, but I end the dvd after the yoga part as I don't do their meditations. Most of their yoga workouts are 45-70 minutes long.

Those mantras have been altered. This link provides the correct pronunciation: Does anyone know what the correct ending of SaTaNaMa RaMaDaSa SaSaYah Sau Haum is? Is it Haum for the throat seed mantra or just AUM?

During one of the practices, the chanting of HAR and HARE are used extensively. Are these also distortions of true mantras?
