Mainstream Astrology signs, do they have any use? Without further birth info.

For example if someone is in mainstream astrology a leo, does this information has any value besides it tells me:

He/she is born between "24 July 23 August so having a Ecliptic longitude from 120° to 150°" ? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Astrological_sign

Some people say they go good with people who have this sign, but bad with people who have a other sign, is this just imagination or coincidence?

Do you mean the natal Sun sign?

Taking only one factor from a multitude of factors does not tell us much at all considering the complexity of astrology. The compatibility of people is much more than aspects of their natal or transiting Sun.

Iḿ just wondering because some people say: I don´t like leos, or I like this "astrology sign".

I just try to find a meaning behind it. If there is any value in it.

Because some mainstream attributes they give to the sign I have, are not to far away from how I´ám.

Like I said, taking one attribute out of multitude leaves us with incomplete picture.

By commenting on one aspect, which "mainstream" does usually to peoples natal Sun (eg. horoscopes on tabloid papers are based on natal Sun signs) only tells something about their natal Sun sign. Nothing else. Astrology is much more complex than that.

Another thing to note: THE SIGN THE RULER IS IN IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE SUN OR MOON SIGN.

There is too much emphasis on the Sun. While it is telling of our personality in some ways, it does tell only part of the story.
