It seems in modern Greek, the only term used for love is the word ἀγάπη (Agape), whose the only known origins seens to be the new testament (then Jew invented, see topic542.html).

On the jew testament, "agape" is this insanity shown as the highest form of "love": destroying yourself for the well being of people who doesn't ever deserve it or even your enemies.

Since the advance of xtianity, followed by the corruption of occult vocabulary, the word for love ἔρως (Eros, the root word for "Erotiscism" and "Erotic") had been corrupted into something low and purely carnal, but in ancient knowledge it was a broad term that defined a much higher concept of deep spiritual union and conection, and the Magnum Opus.

The terms for “Love” in the ancient texts were also allegorical for the serpentine nectar as the key to immortality:

“In classical mythology, Cupid (Latin Cupido, meaning 'desire') is the god of desire, erotic love, attraction and affection. He is often portrayed as the son of the love goddess Venus, and is known in Latin also as Amor (Love). His Greek counterpart is Eros.”

“Kama deva as the God of love, this love is taking about Shakti energy. The kundalini. The Cathar Amour is from the Sanskrit amrita the nectar of immorality. That is generated in the chakra's when kundalini pierces them as it moves upwards. And how this nectar causes the souls perfection. This is why Cupid or Kama fires arrows that cause one to experienced love [immorality]. By the transformation of the soul into the primordial element of Siva.”
