I've noticed more and more members have discussed their mental health issues. I've dealt with severe depression since the age of 8 and I am now 37. I've been on several medications, years of therapy and seen many psychiatrists.
First, I want to make it clear that I'm NOT advocating anyone stop taking their medication or stop seeing doctors. I'd just like to share my stance on the matter.
In the old days, the "saying" was medicate and sedate. Not only have I been a mental health patient but I've also worked in the mental health system.
I think it is very important to know yourself first; to know your abilities and what you can handle and not be led around by the docs, nurses, family members or anyone else. I see HP Maxine state in several places that depression in and of itself is a direct result of low bioelectricity. This speaks volumes to me and I believe more and more everyday that we can and are healing ourselves with DAILY meditations. The feelings I get from meditation most of the time mirror and even surpass what I get from medication.
My point here is it all goes back to meditation. Daily meditation. I didn't really see just how crucial this is in the beginning but with daily practice it becomes clear to me.
To my brothers and sisters dealing with mental health issues, I think it's even doubly important and crucial for us to be consistent. It's crucial enough for everyone. Please, please don't make excuses. Please, please make the time. I tell ya, when I feel that energy coursing through my body and that small bit of heat at my tailbone it takes my mood and joy and the "feel good" to heights I never thought were possible. Again, I am NOT advocating stopping the medication.
Every time I write a prayer to Father Satan I always end it the same way: There is no God but You. Keep me strong in my faith and service.
As I said, this is just my stance from the mental health end of things. Stay close to Father and stay consistent.
HAIL SATAN!
