Just started my Dedication and was interrupted...

Been meditating, but this is one step I've been waiting for the right time. I wrote out the "pledge" and was about to prick the finger and a carload of family pulled up.

I have had some serious threatening events recently and feel this is an important step. Do I need to rewrite the pledge? or can I just keep it and recite during the Dedication?

You can re-use the one you wrote up the first time, nothing wrong with that.
As for doing your ritual, you don't need to meditate before hand. Actually it is better to meditate after ritual. As we are already in a good state of mind, and it is a chance to focus on the ritual and the positive outcomes (this goes for all rituals) of the ritual.
Try line it up for when your family is out. Not just before they get back. Rather, as soon as they leave, get everything ready and do it.

Additionally, you can do it when others are sleeping (assuming you can get privacy or have your own room). And if you cannot, you can find somewhere private and quite to walk like a forrest or field or park, and do it there.

If you feel the need to re-write it, then by all means, re-write it. I would, however, recommend you burn both. I do not know why. That's just the impression I get.

Perhaps this is a test. Perhaps you have so much to offer, the angels are trying to stop you.
