My guardian Lady Marchosias suggested that I post some links below regarding the dangerous types and amounts of chemicals, including lead, in cosmetics and makeup.
I have the three books below and I highly recommend every female who uses cosmetics (as well as men) to take a look at them.
There's Lead in Your Lipstick:

Not Just a Pretty Face: The Ugly Side of the Beauty Industry:
http://www.amazon.com/Not-Just-Pretty-F ... im_sbs_b_1
Ecoholic Body:
http://www.amazon.com/Ecoholic-Body-Ult ... s=ecoholic
The skin is the largest organ and absorbs what we put on it.
My personal thoughts and experience:
It took a lot of effort to give up my commercial beauty products. I decided to give them up because they are tested on animals and they also contain many chemicals which are bad for our health and body.
I spent a lot of money on these commercial products and was loathe to give them up at first. I looked deeper and realized the power that fashion magazines and advertising had on me, hence why I would buy department store makeup and creams. The idea is this: If I buy x product, I can become beautiful, worthy, desired, etc. This is the power of advertising. It feeds off of our insecurity regarding our looks, our internal sense of worth, and makes a fortune off of us.
Please be aware of what you read, regarding fashion magazines. They are unrealistic and I believe, damaging to the psyche on a deep level.
This is just my opinion, of course. I only read one every month but am seriously considering stopping that because I always felt worse after reading them. Because they depict an unattainable image of beauty and thinness. And they also advertise commercial beauty products that tests on animals and have lots of chemicals in them.
In the end, it's your choice what you read and what you put on your face, regarding makeup, I am just offering some food for thoughts and the above links to provide knowledge.
Once I finish using up the products I have now, I will buy safflower oil (yes, you can find it in your supermarket, lol.) I used to use olive oil to moisterise my legs after shaving. And argan oil is good for clearing up acne. Grapeseed and coconut oil is also excellent for moisterising your skin. You can google up information on how these oils can substitute for expensive skin creams and are actually better for you.
Hail Satan!
