I've had really good effects for practicing a meditation on the SATANAMA mantra, daily, or sometimes every other day, based on the info I found on the JoS. But I haven't really seen a comprehensive article all about the meditation, the amazing info I've read was spread out, from satanslibrary articles, to great comments by established members.
The first section here will be about how to perform the meditation, as well as some advice that helped me. The second section is about its benefits, both discussed in the JoS and my personal experience.
I've been using this process for the meditation for a little over a month, and the benefits were amazing.
This is based on my personal experience. If any details are inaccurate, do correct me, so we can reach a better understanding.
Meditation Instructions
Sit comfortably. I've never done the meditation within trance, but I'm sure it could potentially be beneficial.
For this meditation, you can vibrate a pretty high amount here. Unlike a lot of mantras, I've experienced that you really get the benefits here if this is vibrated for 5-10-15 minutes. I've heard longer, but this is plenty for me. If you take my advice into consideration on how to focus, I've experienced that it lets me smoothly get into a flow of really feeling the vibration affect me. It's those final 5 minutes, when you've gotten into a rhythm, that really let you reap the benefits.
I am a bit of a beginner still, so I need a few minutes in order to get into this state. If you can vibrate with intent, and feel the energy in the right places, after a lot less time than me, that's even better.
Start vibrating SSSSAAAAAH - TTTTTAAAAAH - NNNNNAAAAAH - MMMMMAAAAAH while at first focusing on keeping the time for each sound equal. The SSS should be hissed, like a snake. The TTT should be strong and loud, like in THAUM. The NNN should be almost nasal, like in INANNA. The AAA should feel very relaxed, as it represents the most basic sound a human can articulate.
Your first objective should be to be vibrating the sounds correctly, covering up one complete yogic breath, with the time spent vibrating S T N M and A equal.
Once that's taken care of, work to make this process automatic. Feel the vibration of the sounds, enjoy the experience, and be focused in the present moment, while still vibrating correctly. If you are focused and relaxed, you should still be vibrating correctly, without consciously thinking about it.
Now, try to start feeling the energy. When you are vibrating the S T N M, you should be feeling energy enter through the Crown Chakra.
When you are vibrating the S T N and the M, try to consciously feel the sound reverberating from the top of your head. Intent here is what ultimately matters, as the process happens whether or not you are attuned enough to feel it, but we are trying to become more attuned here. You can imagine the sounds you are vibrating giving off an energy from the top of your head, you can try to tune your vibration so you feel it there, you can visualize white-gold energy entering through the crown, you can visualize the sounds themselves entering through the crown, you can visualize the crown itself, bright in purple light, glowing brighter when you vibrate, whatever works for you and gets you focused.
I can't guarantee you will feel energy here, but if you do, it can feel like many things. Warmth, a cold feeling, pressure, jolts, it all depends on your personal awareness.
This is where meditation is a bit of an adventure and I can't really know where exactly you are in your development, which is an interwebbing of many, many factors.
When you are vibrating the A, you should be feeling energy leave through the Third Eye.
Try to consciously feel the Third Eye, visualize it, visualize energy leaving through it, visualize the vibration or the sound itself emanating from it, try to feel it processing this energy and letting it go. Same as above, different methods will help different people more to attune themselves to this process, and energy will be felt differently by many.
What is a unifying factor, however, is how this meditation will feel if you've done it right.
After these goals, you should be in a bit of a flow. You've got the vibration down, the timing down, and you've got a working system to feel the energy moving.
This is a good time to reiterate that if you can not focus properly, or you're not getting something right when it comes to this, to keep trying, and to take whatever results you get, and set out to do better next time. The first step to do something perfectly is to fail at doing so.
This meditation genuinely feels like you're giving your body, mind and soul the single best rest day ever. You feel attuned to everything around you, you feel like you are breathing along with the Universe, and you can genuinely feel how tuning yourself to this powerful mantra is shaping your Soul into the best version of itself.
Meditation Benefits
As HPHC has stated before, the benefits for the SATANAMA meditation are genuinely endless. It is an incredibly powerful tool and you will just discover more and more benefits as you do it.
It helps with spiritual advancement, genetic improvement and rejuvenation, and so much more.
Here are the benefits I have personally experienced in about 40 days of meditating SATANAMA daily, for about 15 minutes (of which about 7 minutes are in the focused flow I've mentioned), while missing a day here and there:
- I've found that this helps with balancing, similar to the Sun and Moon Breath
- I've found that this is great to do in the morning, before Yoga, because the state it puts you in is really good at waking up your mind, and then my Yoga session wakes up my body, so I'm fully prepped for morning meditations
- I've personally used it before my time to study new things, and I've felt it does benefit me in processing and understanding information better
- Whenever I stuck to it consistently, it helped improve my mental health and keep me calm and focused. When I slacked off for too long on it, and neglected my breathing exercises along with it, the difference is noticeable. It's not that I felt worse than before practicing these, but you definitely see your old normal for what it is.
- I've seen small improvements in my physical health already, which is very impressive for only having practiced it for a month
