Yes, you can improve learning and understanding in regards to science and all things dealing with the mind. It is how you raise and program the energies that will determine it.

You can begin the Mercury Square on the 17th of August, and the last time will be on the 24th of August. Mercury won't be in a favorable sign, or its Exalted sign, Aquarius, until a while.
If a Mercury Square is too much for you, being too advanced, you can use the current Moon in Aquarius to enhance intellect, better your learning and information processing, as well as obtaining and understanding knowledge better.
Aquarius is also good for learning science such as mathematics, advanced sciences and technology and the like. However, Aquarius is more of an inventing sign (genius) with a lot of originality, creativity and unique nature. It may be more unexpected and unconventional in nature.
