Idea involving the ing rune

Say I want to store some of the energy raised during meditation for later use. like say I'm waiting for a moon transit I could store energy now and use it when the time comes for the spell. Could I engrave the ing rune into an ivory gemstone and store it there? (maybe even a silver inlay) Our does it have to be on paper?
