I did the dedication ritual with an open mind and open heart...however when I birned the paper the smoke was pure black... should I be worried? Im afraid the ritual didn't go well

the darkened smoke could be from whatever ink you used on the paper. As long as you have no jewish ancestry then it was accepted.
