I have a couple of questions.

I am new to the Joy of Satan, but I am reading the website very thoroughly. Since I am new I was wondering what are the beginning steps to proceed with Satanism. I have no idea on where to start or what the requirements are.
To give a little history on myself: I am currently being raised in a christian house. Both my parents are Christians and they will definitely not like the idea of their first born son to not be a christian as well. The truth is I never really liked Christianity. My parents have forced it upon me and I have always felt as if Christianity is always holding people back, keeping them from their true potential because most of the messages tell you that your not supposed to be at the level of your true potential. To me most of it seemed fake, especially the bible. Most of the things in there contradict themselves and do not make sense. I do not mean make sense spiritually, for I do not look for that stuff, I mean analytically. My mind has always tried to look for the right answers but I can never find the truth on such things.... The farthest I have gotten is that everything is made of atoms,humans and objects alike, and atoms are made up of protons/neutrons/electrons. But I could never figure out what holds those in place *besides the magnetic attraction* or what causes atoms to form all the way into humans and other animals.... There has to be a guiding hand in the process. I have been reading Joy of Satan and some of it makes sense but not all of it. However I don't think I am anywhere near the point I need to be to understand it all... nor do I think I am supposed to.
Anyway I was just wondering where a good place to start would be.

Actually, no entity created existence. Satan used to be mortal as well: He created the human race through genetic manipulation, apparently, though Im not entirely sure on the lore since that isnt my focus right now. Dont try to delve into the meaning of existence, it just doesnt work. I should know, I wasted most of my life just thinking about it. I came to a single conclusion: It just is. As for starting steps, I recommend you do the dedication, then start developing your magicks and see where you go from there. Good luck ^^

You need to do the dedication ritual first and then the next best thing to do is improve your satanic spiritualism by doing power meditations. When you've improved a little spiritually, you should proceed in developing your magicks.


By the way, I've read what you've posted and what you're thinking is strangely parallel to my thoughts. I have a lot of unanswered questions as well and one of them is about our existence, only mine is mostly focused on 'what our real purpose is' and if there is more beyond the universe.
Furthermore, I don't know if it matters but relating to the other post, I do not believe that life is just life, nothing more to it. That our existence is "just as it is". I believe that the mystery about life and our existence have yet to be uncovered. And I just felt that what the other guy said was a bit discouraging. I know how it feels for others to want people like us to give up and leave things as they are. So, I just want to tell you that no matter what you should not falter. Believe in your true potential and in Enki. And always "Dare to Discover" for no mystery will be solved, and no question will be answered if you will not dwell on the unknown.



(One other thing, "Dare to Discover" is my motto. I hope it helps you in some way =)
