I wanted to write this in response to a few comments I have seen regarding people being overly concerned about the choices they make and the impact which this might have on their body - HP Shannon touched on it lightly in one of her replies but I just wanted to add to that if I could.
If one fails to consider the food one eats, we all know how unhealthy or sick that can make us. HOWEVER, and this is important and the reason why the Satanic way is free from restrictions in diet, our minds influence the power of our food to heal us and nourish not only our bodies but our minds as well since great enjoyment can be derived from eating what is considered "junk" with family and good company in a relaxing and enjoyable setting.
The point of these posts of health advice is not to drive us all into the state of mind that most foods should be feared - no instead the aim is to provide information upon which one can gradually adjust their diet as they need to and as they see fit and expand their knowledge of food and how that fits in with us as people. Knowledge is power and having the knowledge to make even slightly better health choices does not mean one must become as strict with themselves as a monk might be expected to be as this creates emotional and mental restrictions which can cause disease in themselves.
Stressful emotions and fear have a terrible effect on the body systems and of one's mind is constantly at war with themselves over eating health food vs. junk on a daily basis this does more harm than good, even if one eats total 'health' foods. Of course, this doesn't mean that one should be lazy and eat whatever they feel like all the time as we all know this can cause disease however simply understanding which foods are better in which situations should be sufficient to guide you to better health choices over the long term and learn to enjoy these natural foods without the burden of guilt and a continuous mental war with oneself over eating a piece of cake or some other "junk" from time to time.
The media is filled with scare campaigns about this food and that food (usually the best foods we could be eating such as fish and even fresh fruit and vegetables) being high in levels of this toxic chemical or supposed to be linked to some form of cancer (usually with very little credible evidence) usually pushed to create a market and keep people scared of even the very food which sustains us all. Granted, some of these claims are credible and real however a vast majority are rubbish and the stress one undergoes thinking about this is enough to kill you in itself.
Just for your thoughts when considering the health choices you make, the health changes which might be suggested here and other health information that you read to ensure that what we are doing here is conducive to the Satanic Freedom of diet we enjoy...
