A melody itself (played/sung/performed without lyrics; not having any attached lyrics at all) be DIRECTLY*** infused with with a certain text/thought/message?
Like by the numbers assigned to the numerical difference between two tones (the difference/distance of the first and last sound of an octave being 8) that follow each other in a melody?
***By directly I mean: No lyrics of the melody exist through which it would be linked to thoughts/meanings. (Like it'd be if someone listened to xian music performed on instrument, whitout the lyrics - that do exist - being sung.) There's only music: the tones themselves.
NOTE: My aim was to compose the question the wording translating my thoughts being as accurate as possible to avoid it being misconcieved, resulting in a complicated draw up. Sorry about that. (I think a question should be put accurately so the answer will the most proper it can be.)
