Thaum is the mantra for the 3rd eye, which is an extension of the 6th chakra yes, but why does the full chakra meditation use it for the 6th chakra as a whole in the full chakra meditation?
You need to use Yaum for the 6th and Aum for the 4th. Thaum is not bad there as far as I know but the correct version is Yaum. That page needs to be updated.

Experiment and find what works best for you.
For me, YAUM stimulates my heart chakra best whereas INNANA really hits the sixth chakra.
I find that the EZ chakra spin and breathing is most effective for empowering frontal chakra extensions.

In the JoS " Opening your soul " section, it is written that THAUM is for the third eye, the third eye is NOT the sixth chakra ( Ajna ) it is only an extension if it just like a branch of the tree. The Ajna is adjacent to the pineal gland inside the brain and below the crown chakra, i think. YAUM is for Ajna, THAUM is for the third eye
