Is there a way to not get fucked by this financial system?

Here's what I do. I don't use credit cards, I paid cash for a fixer upper house and little by little I have cleaned it up. I own my vehicle and don't watch tv, so I'm left with 4 bills a month. Quite manageable. But the financial system is the biggest problem this country has. This country is having trouble paying the interest on its debt now what will happen when they continue to pile on the debt for a few more years?

I'd like to know that answer, too. I do little things to help myself. I make my own laundry detergent, and that comes out to about $1.32 for 3 gallons and it works better than the regular stuff. When you think about it, it's, what, 15 dollars for Tide now? And that's about maybe a gallon?
I print coupons. I shop 99% of the time at thrift stores. I think back to only a few years ago when i was a teen and i thought 20$ for a shirt was a great deal. Now I pay about 3 dollars for a "new" shirt.Anyways, I know I don't have the answers you're looking for. In the meantime, my only suggestion is to be thrifty and independent. Whatever you can make at home, DIY, etc.. Maybe grow a garden and fish/ hunt for food if your're into that. I've got a deep freeze and you can store a couple deer worth of meat in there, which will last a long time. I prefer to use that instead of store bought beef. You don't know what they feed/do to those cattle. Plus, its cheaper(arguably).
