Infernal greetings to my brothers and sisters. I have a question for you all. Usually when asked what religion I follow, my answer is "I'm pagan." while this answer usually tends not to be followed up with questions, there are times when I find myself almost being confronted when I tell them that I am Satanist. I am trying to find better, hopefully shorter, ways in explaining spiritual satanism and I am open to any suggestions you guys may have.

Hail Enki!

"Ancient pagan you may say."

Remember - Satan - Enki, Beelzebub - Enlil, Astaroth - Innana and so forth. You may explain to them everthing from the Sumerian / Egyptian point of view, and it will be ok. After all, Sumer, Babylon, Egypt WERE the centres of Spiritula Satanism.

Sometimes - no, usually, it is pointless to explain our way of life, therefore do not waste your precious time. You may spend it in a more profitable way with your close acquaintances, friends - those who know you and are open-minded.

That's my advice which I apply.

HAIL LUCIFER AND THE ELDER GODS!!
DEATH TO THE RIGHT HAND PATH!!

I am egyptian myself, so I often tell them that I study the ways of my ancestors.

Then, I explain about En.Ki and Enlil and how they were blasphemed. I usually do it like this: You know, I worship one particular god most, his name is En.Ki and according to legend he was the one who gave us spiritual power. Like the serpent in the tale of Adam and Eve. But since the church wanted to stomp out all other religions, they had to label the most loved god as the worst one, and so now the church called him Satan. Shame, isn't it?

If you explain it to them that simply, most people will;
1, Lose alot of faith in the concept of the evil devil.
2, respect your beliefs, as you have clearly done your research.
3, don't think you're a lunatic, since the name satanist has a bad rep, and you avoid being so blunt.

I sometimes even add jokingly: haha so, you could say I am a satanist then! Hahahaha.

It's truth on a silver platter.

Ave et rege Satanas!

You could say something like, "I worship the most Ancient Gods known to mankind. The way I see it is that these Gods spanned throughout the different cultures of the world, they had the same attributes, but different names to suit their different cultures.

I worship them because they stand for true spirituality, Enki being the Father of spiritualiy has been represented by either a Goat or a Snake throughout time. (now something has most likely struck a cord with them) I believe that the Original Gods, spirituality, and religion in general have been perverted as time has gone on.

(next part, I guess you could say if they ask "how?" )

Mainstream culture has lead us to believe that our personality is spirituality, that's also what books like the bible, the koran, and the torah teach us. The ancient cultures were more in touch with their spirituality; they believed in being able to work with the soul, to feel different aspects of the soul, and eventually to do Enkis will; to advance their spirit to become as Gods *true equality between a lesser being and their Creator*.

Also, mainstream society wants us to think that we can only achieve an impersonal relationship with invisible beings that we will never see until after death, wich obviously leads most to atheism. This is not so; The ancient people and I believe that when you open yourself up spiritually and develope your spiritual eyes, that you can see spiritual beings such as Gods, when you open up your spiritual ears (so to speak) you can hear the Gods and you can communicate with them.

I suggest saying you're a Demonolater. Once I came across a site describing different kinds of Satanism. How accurate the descriptions were I cannot say, the term Demonolatry caught my attention however. In the listing it was described as the worship of demons as ancient pagan deities. On a web dictionary however it was described simply as "the worship of demons". Which of the two is correct I don't know. At any rate it's not a lie either way and since it's not such a commonly used term it might give you a chance to explain yourself, since most people wouldn't have any preset analogies to it such as "Satan=BAD" and other such shit.
