Enochian fallacied by Yehuborim?

I was reading up on the history of the Enochian alphabet & language when i came across a passage identifying John Dee as the discoverer. If I am correct, he was a Yehuborim kabbalistic student under head rabbis that assissted his learning until he & an assisstant were shown the language by "angels." this has to be inaccurate, right? A Yehubor cannot be gifted with the true holy language. Are there any reliable articles that divulge the truth?
