Enlightment

What does it actually means when we say someone is "Enlighted"? Does it mean they have completed Magnum Opus? Does it mean they will be ALL knowing?!
We have heard that Buddha achieved "enlightment",,, does it mean he completed magnum opus? (I dont think so)
And there are many famous spiritual people (especially in India) who claims to be "Enlighted" (They claim to have an altered perspective on this world and experience ever lasting bliss)... So what is going on here? What is this "enlightment"?

Enlightenment is a state of being. It is when you know the truth of things and are no weighted down by emotions or thoughts and thusly can see things for what they are. It is like in that post about the 3ed eye being a lie detector. You know when people are lying and can see through ideas and scams to see the core of what is happening. When your mind body and soul work in harmony and in sync you will become enlightened.
