Good Evening, 

I used to do this a lot as a kid where i would imagine light as sort of like a material i could write with and I would visualize that my fingers could will said light to somehow get what I want. For example, I used to visualize a line of golden light around myself and it would gradually cover me entirely and I would will that it would protect me from negative energies. It struck me curious since I remembered how often I used to do it. Does that method actually work and it that a valid way to direct energy?
