Do I have to commit myself to Satan to perform the arts?

Do I have to commit my self to Satan (sign the paper in blood and burn it) to join Hell's army, do simple magick, etc?

Also, I am still confused. There are 72 or 48 Goetic demons but are there lesser ones as well that I can befriend? Ones that don't command the legions?

If you wish to join the Army, perform magick rituals - yes you have to sign the paper. Is something wrong with it?
